Love can make us do wonderful things!
If you doubt this universal law, you’re in for a pleasant surprise. In an extremely heartwarming story, Roopa and Parveen Kumar Rattan have become India’s first transplanted couple to represent the country at the ongoing World Transplant Games in UK.
When Praveen was diagnosed with end-stage liver disease, he was not expected to live beyond three or four months. There was no option but to undergo transplant, as reported by The Tribune. Roopa’s liver matched — and there was no turning back.
The surgery was performed in 2011 by Dr Arvinder Singh Soin, Chairman, Liver Transplant and Regenerative Medicine at Medanta.
In the video, Dr Sain says,
“There’s no limit to what a successfully transplanted person can do.”
Praveen shares his experience after the transplant, “My health improved, I became active and even started taking part in sports.”
