Diehard Game of Thrones fans are already feeling withdrawal symptoms. It seems like only yesterday that we were eagerly waiting for Season 7 to leak release. But now that it’s done and dusted, we want more, and the next season is at least two years away!
So here’s the latest craze taking the universe of GoT fandom by storm - a trailer imagining Game of Thrones set in the modern day instead of the medieval ages!
Imagine Prime Minister Lannister addressing rumours about the North in a televised speech, “Trust me, fear cuts deeper than swords. There is nothing behind the Wall.”
Imagine soldiers in battle tanks replacing those on horseback.
The rivalry would be as fierce. The enmity as deep. The scheming as shrewd. As the trailer for Westeros The Series argues, “The more things change, the more they stay the same.”
But using the internet to communicate instead of ravens? Damn, that’s a bummer.
So here’s the trailer to Westeros The Series.
And obviously, fans are losing their minds.
Announce the series already, HBO?
According to The Telegraph UK, “It's widely believed that the professional-looking effort is that of a fan. Some are pointing to German satirist and TV presenter Jan Böhmermann. Böhmermann tweeted the video soon after it was released online.”
Well, if anyone cares about how fans feel, they’ve got to make this! And if they do...
...it’ll be a celebration like none other!
So, is the modern winter coming?
