In a recent interview, Kangana Ranaut revealed that she was forced to take a break after being “harrowed with the whole Manikarnika experience”.
“There was so much negativity from the backlog that came with it (the film). I thrive on my confidence. I don't know how to function without it. It's the fuel of my personality. When I feel wronged, taken for a ride, I feel like a meek person. I felt like that,” she told mid-day.
She may have spent 10 days in silence at a yoga camp in Tamil Nadu recently, but Kangana clearly has no plans to stop speaking her mind any time soon.
When asked about her propensity to take on big names in Bollywood, from Hrithik Roshan to Karan Johar and Ranbir Kapoor, Kangana defended her actions saying,
“I obviously don’t have time to pick on people, or find out who’s doing what. Also, I am not a judgmental person, and if you see me, I’m very easy-going. But when somebody, on purpose, bullies me or tries to be nasty, then, of course, I have my own way of putting them in their place. And I do that very well.”Kangana Ranaut, Actor
She went on to explain why she shamed Ranbir Kapoor after he reportedly said that he doesn’t take a political stance because he has no complaints for the government. “These are people who feel absolutely exclusive, saying one has nothing to do with the rest of India. This is the kind of attitude that Karan Johar and gang thrive on,” she said.
Kangana pointed out that she had addressed several celebrities and felt that as public figures, they were responsible for being role models. She said,
“Maybe they [the masses] don’t even know what is good for them. That responsibility, of reflecting on that psyche, lies on them [the celebrities]. Hence going forward, they should be addressing concerns, if we are talking about the collective development of a community, or nation.”Kangana Ranaut
“As a society, we need to decide whether these idiots should be our role-models, because we get what we deserve. So we need to talk about it,” she added.
