Deepika Padukone has created history once again, she has featured on the cover of Time Magazine as the latest 'Global Star'. The Pathaan actor opened up about bringing the world to Bollywood and how she has managed to achieve global stardom, during the interview with the top international magazine.
The actor became one of the rare Indian stars to feature on the cover of TIME, earlier graced by names like Priyanka Chopra, Aishwarya Rai and others. In the interview with the magazine, she said: “My mission has always been to make a global impact while still being rooted in my country."
When asked what she hopes to achieve next, she was quick to respond,
"This is India’s moment. So how can I marry the best of the East and the West? There’s the India with our roots, our heritage, our history, but there’s also a new and young India that’s emerging.It’s these two Indias coming together that I find really fascinating at this moment."Deepika Padukone, Actor
The actor got candid about the opportunities that lie ahead for India despite the two historic Oscar wins. She said, " I don’t think we should be happy with one Oscar for a song and one Oscar for a documentary."
