Dressed in floral prints, Shraddha Kapoor stands smitten by Delhi rain, as she portrays the suave English speaking girl Riya Somani in Mohit Suri’s Half Girlfriend. Standing somewhere in the background is Madhav Jha aka Arjun Kapoor, a diametrically opposite character who barely passes and hopes to be able to speak in English one day. But they have one thing in common, they both love the rain. So here comes the film’s first song, Baarish.
Baarish tells the story of how Riya and Madhav become friends but is not very impressive as a romantic number. Sung by Ash King and Shashaa Tirupati, the song has been written by Arafat Mehmood and Tanishk Bagchi. Half Girlfriend is based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel by the same name. The Mohit Suri film is slated to release on May 19.
