Yes, Johnny Depp is 52 but he looks nothing like the elderly man here. This is how Depp looks in his next film Black Mass. Johnny Depp plays a Boston gangster Whitey Bulger in the film, so he’ll be sporting this huge forehead with a receding hairline just to make his character more realistic.

And the man behind many of Depp’s on-screen looks is Joel Harlow who is known to create monsters with makeup. He is the magician behind films like Pirates of the Caribbean, Dark Shadows and The Lone Ranger among among.

Mortdecai is said to be Johnny Depp’s worst film maybe cause the moustache took away all the attention. This black-and-white painted warrior in The Lone Ranger was an inspiration from a painting which Depp saw and immediately knew should be his look for the film. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor explained that the lines of paint on the Native American’s face looked to him like a cross-section of the man’s emotional life. That’s deep, Depp!

Now you couldn’t find a better actor to play the MAD Hatter.
