Oscar winner Brad Pitt, who has been keeping a low profile after his split with Angelina Jolie, revealed that he has stopped drinking alcohol, and that he is undergoing therapy, in a candid interview given to GQ Style.

The magazine directed an eight-day photo shoot with the actor for their summer edition, when he gave them the extensive interview.

While Pitt makes mention of Jolie’s name just once during the course of the interview, he is seen talking openly about how he is dealing with the breakup.

He confessed that he did not want to spend time at the Los Angeles house, where he is currently staying, because in his memory, the house has always been “chaotic” and “crazy”.

I was boozing too much. Its just become a problem. And I’m really happy its been half a year now, it’s been bittersweet.

Pitt, who made a rare public appearance at the Golden Globes Award this year, maintained that he spends most of his time making art and working on his new film War Machine, which is scheduled to release later this month.

Jolie and Pitt shocked the world when they filed for divorce in September 2016. The FBI also investigated Pitt for physical abuse. The court later ordered for family counselling.

In February this year, Jolie, who hadn’t spoken of the breakup until then, confessed that their children were the most important for both of them. “We are a family and we will always be one,”said Jolie to BBC World.

"Family first. People on their deathbeds don't talk about what they obtain or were awarded, but about their loved ones,” said Pitt in the GQ interview.
