Attempting to enter the Guinness World Records, 30-year-old Soni Chaurasia from Varanasi took the stage to break the record of performing Kathak for 124 hours non-stop.

Soni attempted the same record last year in November but fell unconscious after dancing for 88 hours.

Her Guru said Prime Minister Narendra Modi also sent out best wishes to Soni in a letter to motivate her.

The dance marathon started on April 4 at 6 pm and will end on April 9 at 9 pm. After every eight hours, Chaurasia is eligible for a 40-minute break.
