Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley held a quarterly performance review meeting on Monday with Chairmen, Managing Directors and CEO’s of public sector banks (PSB). The meeting was mainly focussed on provisioning of PSBs and insolvency and bankruptcy related issues.
Addressing the media after the meeting, Jaitley said that the government expects the head of banking institutions to be frank and up front. He also said that banks need to be provided all kind of protection and will be empowered.
