Subramanian Swamy has deployed his battling rams yet again. This time the target is Chief Economic Advisor Arvind Subramanian. It seems Swamy is all pumped up after RBI governor Raghuram Rajan announced his departure. We all know about his vehement campaign against Rajan.
His party, BJP, is steering clear of his remarks this time. In fact, Finance Minister Arun Jaitely has spoken in support of the CEA, snubbing Swamy. In Rajan’s case, both Jaitley and Prime Minister Modi decided to stay silent.
If all this attention seeking behaviour was for a Rajya Sabha post, he’s got that now.
So what drives Swamy?
Is he a lone crusader, or is he backed by someone? Or is it simply a battle of the Tam Brams?
Till someone figures him out, the spectre of Subramanian Swamy will continue to haunt Indian politics.
