1. China’s ‘Advise’ for India
“Smug” and “Spoilt” - that’s how China’s state run People’s Daily described India’s reaction to it’s failed NSG bid. Social media, remember, had been ripe with calls to boycott Chinese goods after the Seoul plenary. In a clear message to India, the editorial said - “India’s nationalists should learnt how to behave themselves and behave like the major power that it could be”. We’re not too sure how seriously this advise from China will be taken.
2. England Can’t Handle Brexit 2.0
England have been knocked out of the Euro after a 2-1 defeat at the hands of tournament first-timers Iceland. Brexit 2 is what the team’s round of 16 defeat being called — this European exit though has cost them their coach!
3. Rapist-Murderer on the Loose
Sajjad Mughal who had been in jail for murdering a 25-year-old lawyer in 2012 is now missing. He was granted parole in Friday and now he along with his family are reported missing. In 2012, Sajjad Mughal tried to rape and murdered Pallavi Prkayastha in her rented apartment in Mumbai. He slit her throat when she fought back aggressively. In view of this glaring security lapse, the Maharashtra government has decided to change its parole rules which had also come under question when Sanjay Dutt was in jail.
