Our khabri in Bollywood has informed us that the jury of the Melbourne Film Festival was more than excited after shortlisting Kangna Ranaut for the Best Actress trophy for her role in Tanu Weds Manu Returns. But Kangana seems to be following Aamir Khan’s footsteps as she has reportedly declined the award. We hear that the actress will attend the ceremony on August 15 in Melbourne, but won’t accept the award. Apparently the whole cast of Katti Batti will also be there.

4. Anil Kapoor Gives Writers All the Credit for Good TV Shows and Films

Veteran actor Anil Kapoor believes that all mediums of entertainment are nothing without good writers. The first Mumbai Mantra - Cinerise Screenwriting Programme was announced and inaugurated in Mumbai, and it is there that Anil stressed on the importance of writing talent.

“The reason I come here is because I am always on the lookout for good writers that I can use in my movies and TV shows. I need their support and talent, and it is important for me. Whether is it a movie, theatre or television, they are nothing without writers” Anil said at the event.

5. Fantastic Four Flops With $26.2M, Loses to Mission Impossible Rogue Nation

Bad news for 20th Century Fox as director Josh Trank‘s Fantastic Four opened to a dismal $26.2 Million, collected from 3,995 theatres at the North American box office, after being rejected by critics and audiences. Apparently this is one of the lowest openings of all time for a big-budget superhero studio production. The film suffered as Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation, starring Tom Cruise gained, in its second weekend, $29.4 Million from 3,988 theatres, reaching a domestic total of $109.5 Million.
