1. Dreamed of Being the CEO of Infosys: Vishal Sikka on Resignation

Vishal Sikka resigned as the chief executive officer and managing director of Infosys Ltd on 18 August.

The board of the country’s second-largest software services company accepted the resignation of Sikka with immediate effect. He has been appointed the executive vice-chairman of the company. In his resignation letter, which he also posted on his blog, Sikka cited distractions and the undermining of the good work being done as among the reasons for his stepping down as the Infosys CEO.

2. Movie Reviews: ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’, ‘VIP 2’

3. Happy Fart-Day, Ranvir Shorey! May Your ‘Kadvi Hawa’ Be Glorious

After a heavyweight endorsement from Erik Solheim, the Executive Director of UN Environment Programme, Ranvir Shorey’s upcoming film Kadvi Hawa has generated a lot of interest.

It is a story of a 70-year-old blind farmer, played by Sanjay Mishra, who has to deal with a loan recovery agent, played by Ranvir Shorey. Director Nila Madhab Panda has tried to raise the issues of climate change and farmer distress in the film.

Watch this video as the lead actors and the director discuss, in lighter vein, the other “kadvi hawa” that afflicts all of humanity.

4. End of Sasikala? Only 3 MLAs Attend Dhinakaran’s Meeting

Only three MLAs showed up for the meeting called by Dhinakaran at the Woodlands hotel in a show of solidarity, CNN News 18 reported.

TTV Dhinakaran had earlier boasted support of around 20 MLAs, enough to bring the government down. Could this be the end of Sasikala?

5. Japan Backs India on Doklam, Warns Against Changing Status Quo

In the latest development on the India-China front, Japan has backed India in its two-month-long protracted military stand-off with China’s People's Liberation Army at Doklam, near Sikkim-Tibet-Bhutan trijunction. Japan further said “unilateral force should be used to change the status quo on ground”.

Amidst the standoff, Chinese media released a video which portrayed India in a racist manner. Watch this space for The Quint's pol-khol following that video.
