Police detained several people at various places in some southern districts for attempting to organise Jallikattu. People hoisted black flags in Palamedu village for not allowing them to hold Jallikattu.
The Supreme Court on Thursday said it could not give its verdict on Jallikattu before Pongal.
Villagers in Tamil Nadu hold Jallikattu in Paraipatti district despite the Supreme Court's orders banning the annual event. The local police disrupted the event and tried to disperse the participants. Read the full story here.
