Actor Vijay Sethupathi slammed the Centre on the revocation of Article 370 in a radio interview in Melbourne. His comments were in contrast to Rajinikanth’s, who praised Amit Shah for ‘Mission Kashmir’.

This is what Sethupathi said in an interview to a radio station in Melbourne, “This is undemocratic. Periyar already said it. People must solve their own problems. Others can't interfere. Can I intervene in your problems? You're living in that house. You know what the monthly budget is, and what your expenses are. What your kids need, and how you're going to get through the day is something only you will know. I can express concern, not exercise control. There's a difference between the two. It's the same everywhere. Even in the case of 'Eelam' (Sri Lanka), as an outsider, I can express concern, but not exercise control. Whatever it be, good or bad. We only talk with what we've heard (of the issue), but it is only those who are living there who know what the actual problem is. I am deeply pained about it.”

Thol Thirumavalavan, Chief of VCK (Viduthalai Chiruthai Katchi) countered Rajinikanth, saying, “Rajinikanth will never speak against the Modi government. So his comment in support of the government this time does not come as a surprise.”

Here are some of the most prominent voices in Tamil Nadu, speaking on the issue.
