For many students in Harda district, Madhya Pradesh, going to school is no easy task. Due to a lack of educational facilities, students trek about 14 kilometres daily, crossing a river to reach school. During the monsoon, they often have to swim across the swollen river.

On our way to school, we have to cross the Ganjal river. If there is too much water, we have to swim across. Otherwise, we cross it by wading through with the help of sticks.
