India’s tennis star Sania Mirza had some strong words for women’s sports in India during an event in Hyderabad. The 30-year-old said that people recognised the Indian women’s cricket team only after they made it to the final of the World Cup.

The six-time Grand Slam champion expressed that it’s a little bit harder for women to do well in India and she hopes that the euphoria around the Indian women’s cricket team doesn’t die down.

Mirza also spoke about the time she had to play on tennis courts made out of cow dung, because the facilities were not good during her upcoming years.
