1. At Least 4 Killed, 13 Injured in Cochin Shipyard Blast
At least four people were killed due to asphyxiation and 13 injured in a fire at the repair dock of Cochin Shipyard, on Tuesday, 13 February. The fire has been brought under control.
The explosion reportedly occurred on ONGC’s Sagar Bhushan ship, as a result of a blast that took place inside the water tank of the ship.

2. After Sunjwan, 2 Terrorists Eliminated in Karan Nagar Encounter
In the encounter, that lasted more than 24 hours, two terrorists were neutralised by security force in Jammu and Kashmir's Karan Nagar.
In the Sunjwan terror attack, another jawan was found dead, taking the toll to seven, including one civilian.
Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman condemned the attack, saying that Pakistan will pay for the 'misadventure'.
Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti proposed that they will push for a dialogue with Pakistan to end the bloodshed. Congress, opposing her idea of a dialogue, said that the atmosphere for talks was not conducive at the moment.

5.‘Sui Dhaaga’: Varun-Anushka’s ‘Made in India’ First Look
The first look of Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan starrer, Sui Dhaaga is finally here. The pictures shows Mauji and Mamta (Varun and Anushka), dressed in a simple attire.
In line with PM Modi’s ‘Make In India’ campaign that promotes skill development, Anushka will reportedly play the role of an embroiderer and Varun as a tailor in the film.

6. Haryana to Penalise Those Abandoning Milch Cows
Those abandoning milch cows in Haryana will have to pay a fine of Rs 5,100, a senior official said on Monday, 12 February.
Haryana Gau Seva Aayog Chairman Bhani Ram Mangla said, "For this purpose, a mobile application is being prepared with the assistance of information technology cell in the state, which will reveal information about the location of the animal on the basis of a tag number."
He said that as per the government decision, Gau Seva Kendras will be established in villages for fostering cows, for which government will give financial assistance.
"Registration of these centres will be mandatory and a committee of learned persons will be set up for their functioning. The Aayog will give a lump sum amount of Rs 5,000 per cow annually," he said.

7. Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Didn’t Say Jai Siya Ram. CC: Times Now, Zee
Several mainstream Indian news outlets scrambled to save face over the weekend after wrongly attributing an Emerati columnist saying ‘Jai Siya Ram’ in a two-year-old video to Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
Times Now and Zee News used Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to revive a 2016 video where the guest speaker addressing the Indian diaspora begins his speech with ‘Jai Siya Ram’.
While both media outlets clearly stated that the video was old, they misidentified the speaker.
