On 5 December, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) razed a slum in Mehrauli area of Delhi stating a High Court order. The slum was apparently built on an encroached land.

However, the residents claim that they have been living in the area for the past 10 years. They also said that the MCD had bulldozed their houses without any prior notice.

On one hand, we have to deal with note ban. On the other hand, they have snatched our house. In such freezing cold, where do we go?
