A man dragged and threw his mother in front of a tractor to stop it from moving, in Maharashtra’s Washim.

A man brutally dragged and threw an elderly woman, reportedly his mother, in front of a tractor, in Maharashtra’s Washim district, on 21 June, claimed police.

Two neighbouring families, Rauts and Dalvis, fell out over a land dispute and the district court ruled in favour of the Rauts. This reportedly angered the Dalvis. The man, a member of the Dalvi family, in order to stop the Rauts from tilling the disputed land, dragged and pushed his mother in front of the tractor, as reported by ANI.

The police have filed a case against 15 members of both the families and arrested one person in connection with the incident. Investigations are underway.

Two days ago in Mungla village which falls under the Malegaon police station, there was a dispute between two families over a piece of land. We have filed a case against 15 people from both the families. We have arrested one person. A video (of a woman pushed in front of a tractor) has gone viral following the dispute. We are investigating the matter.
