All the news channels reported that the government has decided to rollback the fee hike amid the students’ protests. But is it true?

After days of protest against the fee hike, the news came that the hike has been partially withdrawn. That’s what Education Secretary R Subramaniam announced on Twitter, but JNU students and unions are calling this tweet a “shrewd move”.

What Do the Unions Say?

The students are saying that they have seen these circulars being posted on Twitter a lot of times and that they are just to mislead the students. The issue of fee hike is not completely finished, they said.

JNU General Secretary Satish Yadav said that the vice chancellor should have “come forward and clean up”. He said that nothing is understood from the tweet and that it has been tweeted “only to trick the students”.
