Japan’s Ice Cross Fans Treated to a Spectacle in Asian Debut

Japanese Ice Cross fans were treated to a spectacle as Crashed Ice made its Asian debut in Yokohama, Japan.

Japanese Ice Cross Downhill fans were treated to a spectacle as Red Bull Crashed Ice event made its Asian Debut in Yokohama, Japan on the event’s golden jubilee.

The 350-metre-long artificial downhill track was full of bone-jarring bumps, jumps and rollers, built with the famous Yokohama Bay Bridge as an iconic backdrop.

Defending champion Scott Croxall (CAN) was knocked out in the quarter-finals as two-time champion Cameron Naasz eased into the final where he faced 2012 champion Kyle Croxall, American Maxwell Dunne and Finn Mirko Lahti.

American Naasz got out in front early and held on to take the season opener from Croxall, Dunne and Lahti in the first of nine 2018/19 races around the world.

“Everybody has been working really hard over the summer. It’s hot out here and we’re not used to these warm temperatures. It’s beautiful to race here in Asia. Everyone’s so friendly and they put on a great event. I’m very hungry to get my world title back.”
