Irom’s PRJA Becomes Manipur’s First Crowd Funded Political Party

On 18 October, Irom Sharmila launched the Peoples’ Resurgence and Justice Alliance (PRJA), a political party aimed at ushering in “nonviolence, peace and understanding” in Manipur, after she broke her fast on 9 August. Erendro Leichonbam, the Convener of the party explained how crowd funding would help root out corruption. Soon the party expects to be allotted a symbol.
