Star Wars fans across the world celebrate 4 May as Star Wars Day. Why 4 May? Because, “May the Fourth Be With You”. Geddit? Geddit? Many fans posted on Twitter wishing everyone a Happy Star Wars Day, including the popular football club FC Barcelona.
Some fans, who couldn’t celebrate the day because they had to work, posted this meme on twitter.
Meanwhile, fans in Taipei, Taiwan, took the celebration to another level. The organisers hosted a “May The Fourth Be With You” event at the country’s president’s office.
Chen Chien-jen, Vice-President of Taiwan, also took part in the celebrations.
Some of the fans dressed as storm troopers and marched to the president’s office, not to invade it, but to salute the military police stationed their.
A not-so-subtle-dig at China? Well, Taipei, “May the force be with you.”
