Canvas & Paint Therapy Enthralls Female Inmates of Vadodara Jail

Initially, the women inmates were shy and introvert. But as days passed, they began enjoying the painting activity.

Female inmates of Vadodara Central Jail poured out the hopes, fears and memories on canvas. As they dabbled in a week-long painting workshop, they dipped into their creative side to heal their hearts and souls.

The workshop was conducted by Sarjan Art Gallery with a view to help the inmates feel positive thoughts and to assimilate them better in the society they will go to after release. The inmates were asked to create paintings based on the theme of family.

"The motive was to make the inmates feel better about themselves’’ says Coordinator, Vaishnavi Sharma.
