On 9 November, some stores sent out texts to customers claiming that they will accept Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes. Later in the day, they stopped accepting the notes from the customers reasoning that their initial SMSs were "mistimed". The Quint decided to visit such stores and tried to find out if they were still accepting the notes.
