Govt OKs Tamil Nadu’s Jallikattu Ordinance, but Protests to Go On

The ordinance has now been sent to President Mukherjee for his assent.

The Law, Environment and Cultural Ministries approved with minor changes Tamil Nadu’s ordinance allowing Jallikattu. It has now been sent to President Mukherjee for his assent.

However, according to media reports, the protests at Chennai’s Marina Beach and other places will not be called off until the doors that let the bull into the Jallikattu arena aren’t opened.
