Union Minister Babul Supriyo courted controversy on Tuesday, 18 September for threatening to “break the leg” of a man and “hand him a crutch” during an event for differently-abled people at Nazrul Manch in Asansol, reported CNN-News18.
Supriyo was invited to the event to donate wheelchairs and other equipments to the differently abled.
He further ordered his security personnel to break the man’s leg and give him a crutch if he “dares to move any further from his place”. Supriyo also asked the audience to clap for the man.
In the video, the singer-turned politician was seen saying, "What happened to you? Any problem? I can break one of your legs."
He further said, “Next time if he moves from there then remove one of his legs, adding, and I will give these people sticks to beat you up. Have you understood? Now clap for this man.”
