Woman Thrashes Bank Manager For Allegedly Seeking Sexual Favours

A bank manager from Karnataka’s Davanagere was beaten by a woman in public for allegedly seeking sexual favours.

A bank manager in Karnataka’s Davanagere district was caught on camera being thrashed by a woman in full public view for allegedly seeking sexual favours. The incident took place on Monday, 15 October and soon went viral on social media.

The man, identified as Devaiyya, was first beaten up with a stick, then kicked, punched, slapped and finally thrashed with a slipper.

Devaiyya, an employee at DHFL loan agency, had allegedly asked the woman for sexual relations in exchange for sanctioning her loan. She had reportedly applied for a loan of Rs 2 lakh. Infuriated at this, the woman took to beating up the man in full public view with a stick, reported Times Now.

Through the length of the video, the woman is heard asking the man to come to the police station, while she hits him with the stick.

The police have reportedly filed a case against the bank manager, Times of India reported.

DHFL’s Response to the Incident

Responding to the incident, DHFL in a statement, which has been assessed by The Quint, said that it has removed the bank manager in question from their employment.

In the light of the unfortunate incident at Davanagere, we have terminated the services of the employee with immediate effect. DHFL strongly promotes and cultivates an environment that is conducive for the safety of women. DHFL has also assured full cooperation to respective authorities with regards to any further investigation.

In a similar incident which took place earlier this year, a branch manager of a Maharashtra bank was arrested for allegedly seeking sexual favours from a woman loan applicant, Financial Express reported.
