Army Chief General Bipin Rawat attended the passing out parade of 490 gentlemen cadets on the completion of their course from Indian Military Academy in Dehradun. Rawat shed light on various issues including the need for more women in the military and the importance of modern technology to be put at the disposal of soldiers.

We need women in rank and file where there are usually jawans and sardar sahebaan. We have to often face the common people during operations and that is when women come face to face with us.

Rawat further added that youth in Kashmir are misinformed and provoked by social media. “If we have modern technology, it should be used the right way. This way, the people will also not be troubled and we will also be capable,” he said.
