Meet Captain Cooper, the Cat That Has Sailed 7000 Nautical Miles

Captain Cooper, the sailor cat that has sailed from Miami Beach to Coast of North Carolina.

Most cats run in fear at the sight of a bath, but this feline feels most at home when taking to the waves.

Captain Cooper sails with his owner, sailboat charter captain Stephanie Mansberger, up and down the east coast of America.

When on board, the two-year-old Bengal enjoys playing tag on deck, chasing birds off the rigging, or helping to ‘teach’ knots to Stephanie with the ropes on the deck.

He is very adventurous and up for anything I throw his way – from living aboard a sailboat, to long car journeys, to kayaking and paddle boarding. He is super sweet and makes little chirping noises to get our attention.

In total, his naval career has seen him cover almost 7,000 nautical miles, and travel from the warm beaches of Miami to the rockier coasts of North Carolina.

He plays the role of a pirate’s parrot, sitting on Stephanie’s shoulder.
