Thick Fog Causes Huge Pile-up on Expressway Near Mathura, One Dead

One person died in the crash and at least 10 others have suffered injuries.

For the second consecutive day, Delhi and other parts of North India continued to be fogged out.

As a result of extremely low visibility, 12 vehicles crashed into each other on the Yamuna Expressway in the early hours on Thursday, near Mathura.

The resulting pile-up has left one person dead and several others injured. Visibility was reduced to less than 50 metres in many parts of Delhi.

Social media posts reflected the chaos at airports and railway stations. many were also posting photographs of fogged out streets.

Met department has indicated that foggy conditions are likely to continue till Saturday.

Several parts of the national capital region (NCR) such as Gurgaon, Faridabad, Jhajjar, Hisar, Bhiwani, Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal and Rohtak too were blanketed in fog.

Indian Railways officials stated that a few trains were running behind schedule due to the fog.
