Maria Sharapova will be back at a Grand Slam after 18 months! The Russian has not been able to play a Grand Slam after serving out a 15-month doping ban because she was denied a wildcard at the French Open and couldn’t play the qualifiers at Wimbledon due to a thigh injury.
But the US Open has come to Sharapova’s rescue, by granting her a wildcard in the main draw of the tournament, which begins on 28 August.
