Ever wondered what it’s like to spend an entire night behind the bars, that too in an Indian prison? This 220-year-old prison in Telangana’s Medak district allows visitors to tuck into an inmate’s bed for a night for Rs 500.

The Sangareddy Jail was falling apart after it was abandoned recently. This prompted DG Vinoy Kumar Singh to come up with a novel idea of turning the entire prison complex into a museum.

Under this new offer entitled ‘Feel the jail’, visitors can take a tour of the jail’s museum after purchasing a ticket worth Rs 10. This of course, is different from the stay-in offer where visitors can soak into all criminal comforts, albeit, for one night only.

Those signing up for the overnight stay in the jail are provided with Khaki shorts as well as other classic supplements such as the classic steel mug and glass.

The only exception, however, is the absence of several degrees of torture that Indian prisons are most infamous for.
