25/3 after 5.2 overs, 31/5 after 7 overs and 107 all out in 18.5 overs. This was how Kolkata Knight Riders’ innings against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2017’s Qualifier 2 progressed on Friday.

Mumbai Indians eventually chased down KKR’s total with 33 balls to spare at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Mumbai Indians' leg-spinner Karn Sharma picked up the wickets Sunil Narine (10), Gautam Gambhir (12), Colin de Grandhomme (0) and Ishank Jaggi (28) to derail KKR's innings.

Karn, who was named man of the match, returned with figures of 4-16 – his best in the IPL.

Playing his 100th T20 match, Jasprit Bumrah too returned career-best figures of 3-7.

He sent opener Chris Lynn (4) back early with a fullish delivery which the explosive Australian tried to loft over mid-on but was picked up by Keiron Pollard.

He then trapped Robin Uthappa (1) plumb and eventually removed KKR’s highest scorer Suryakumar Yadav for 31 in the 18th over.

With their win, Mumbai Indians set up an IPL 2017 final against Rising Pune Supergiant, scheduled to take place in Hyderabad on Sunday.
