Indian sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik created a sculpture of the young Syrian child Aylan Kurdi, at a Puri beach on Friday.

3-year-old Aylan drowned and washed ashore on a Turkish beach, on Wednesday, prompting huge international outcry over the growing migration and refugee crisis being faced globally.

Inscribed beneath the sand sculpture are the words “Humanity washed ashore, Shame Shame Shame.”
