Don’t Treat GST Bill As Bilateral Issue With Cong: Yechury To Govt
Sitaram Yechury demanded building a consensus on the important proposed legislation, pending in the Rajya Sabha.
CPI(M) leader, Sitaram Yechury demands an all party meeting regarding the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill. The Narendra Modi government has treated the GST Bill as a “bilateral” issue between it and the Congress instead of taking all parties on board, CPI-M general secretary Sitaram Yechury said on Tuesday.
He also demanded building a consensus on the important proposed legislation, pending in the Rajya Sabha.
BJP spokesperson, Shahnwaz Hussain said that the Bill is being passed for the well-being of the poor. PM Modi has great hopes on it, he added.
Congress spokesperson, Tom Vadakkan slammed the BJP and said that the Congress party has nothing to gain from the GST bill. He added that BJP has to get out of their ego and that the issue should be addressed together.
