Former Indian fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad turns 47 today. The Karnataka lad, who led India to several memorable victories, took 96 and 196 wickets in his Test and ODI career respectively.

Prasad, who participated in two World Cups (1996 and 1999) during his career, also had success with the Indian team as a bowling coach. The paceman was part of the coaching staff when India registered their historic series win against England in 2007 away from home.
