Ambulance drivers in Bengaluru often find themselves delayed by as long as 20 minutes owing to the unruly traffic in the city. As they struggle to make it in time, they explain how even a couple of minutes of delay can result in severe medical complications.

Describing their plight, the drivers drew attention to the negligence of home guards in coming to their aid. They also discussed rules which prevent them from doing their job as effectively as they would like. Being forced to stay off the roads during VIP movement is one of them.

The disruptive nature of Bengaluru’s traffic is confirmed by statistics which rank the city third for the number of fatal accidents in the world.
