Whatsapp has silently pushed an update that allows the app to support 256 members in groups.

Recently, Facebook-owned Whatsapp has silently pushed an update that allows the app to support more than double the number of members in a group currently.

Until now, a group could have a maximum of 100 members. This limit has now been pushed to 256. The update is available for both iOS and Android.

Earlier, the company had also removed its annual fee of $1.
