Twitter appeared to be “down” early on Thursday, 1 July, even as some features of the microblogging site continued to load.
The issues were fixed later, with Twitter Support acknowledging them and apologising for the interruption. "Aaaand we’re back. Twitter for web should be working as expected. Sorry for the interruption!" it tweeted.
Earlier, the tweets on users' profiles were not loading for many and other parts of the social media platform were also facing snags on the web, Twitter pointed out. "We're continuing to work on getting things back to normal."
These issues were not just limited to India, and were being reported worldwide.
As per Downdetector, which tracks such outages, user reports indicated Twitter was having problems since 9:33 PM EDT (7:03 am IST).
