A video of Australian spinner Adam Zampa trying to tamper the ball while bowling against India at The Oval is making the rounds on social media. The incident happened in the 23rd over of the Indian innings when Zampa was caught on camera while he pulled out something from his pocket and allegedly tried rubbing the ball with it.

As soon as the video went viral on social media, Twitter users started questioning Zampa’s intention that whether he was trying to tamper the ball or not.

The Australian team already have a history with ball-tampering which saw David Warner, Steve Smith and Cameron Bancroft being banned from participating in international cricket over a 12-month period. The trio was found guilty of the act while playing a Test match in South Africa. It was only in March this year that Smith and Warner made a comeback to the Australian side.

As far as Sunday’s match was concerned, Zampa went for 60 off just five overs going for an economy of 12 runs per over, without any success. Till now he has picked up just four wickets in his first two games and was rather ineffective against the heavyweight Indian batting line-up on the big match day.
