Wanted to Kill Myself After India Loss: Pak Coach Mickey Arthur

Pakistan was under the radar after their shameful loss to the Indian team at Old Trafford. The men in green were severely criticised by fans and former players for their poor performance. Mickey Arthur, the head coach was the one who felt the hate the most.

He stated that he wanted to commit suicide last Sunday,16 June.

“Last Sunday I wanted to commit suicide, but it was only one performance. We always keep telling our players, it’s one performance.”

“The guys were incredibly hurt, by media, by the public, by social media… The guys didn’t sleep much,” added Arthur.

Pakistan’s Still Got Game

Pakistan were able to bounce back into the game after beating South Africa by 49 runs on Monday, 24 June. Mickey Arthur’s team was able to perform in all the three departments. They won the toss and chose to bat first and posted a total of 308. However, Pakistan’s fielding remained a little sloppy as they dropped seven catches against The Proteas.

“And if we play our best game we can beat anybody. Whether that is New Zealand, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, our remaining games, or England, we showed, we put our three disciplines together we are as good as any team in this competition.”

Sarfaraz Ahmed-led side will take on New Zealand in a must-win situation at Edgbaston, Birmingham on 26th June. With five points in total, Pakistan sit at the seventh place in the points table.
