Virat Kohli joined opener Shikhar Dhawan at the crease after Rohit Sharma was dismissed for a duck in India’s third ODI against South Africa in Cape Town on 7 February.

The skipper then went on to score an unbeaten 160 runs, more than half of India’s innings total of 303/6.

Yuzvendra Chahal (4/46) and Kuldeep Yadav (4/23) once again ripped through the Proteas batting line-up as India bowled the hosts out for 170, winning the match 124 runs, and taking an unassailable 3-0 lead in the six-match series.

Kohli’s second century in the three ODIs in South Africa has, so far, helped him set the record for the highest individual score by an Indian batsman against South Africa in South Africa, going past Sourav Ganguly's 127 at Johannesburg in 2001. It was also Kohli's second-highest ODI score after 183 against Pakistan in 2012.

Batting great Sachin Tendulkar joined the cricket fraternity in lauding the Indian captain on the feat.
