Sachin, Dhawan, Yuvraj Have a Special Message on Independence Day
Sachin, Sehwag, Kumble, Dhawan, Yuvraj wish India a Happy Independence Day
On the occasion of India’s 72nd Independence Day, Indian cricketers took to social media to wish their fans and followers.
With a picture of him holding the tricolour during the celebrations of the 2011 World Cup victory walk, Sachin posted an ode to India’s freedom fighters.
“Everything in life is hard-earned. Just like our independence. Among countless other things, there would have been no ‘Team India’ if not for the sacrifice of our brave freedom fighters. Let us not take that freedom for granted. Happy Independence Day”
Currently in Nottingham for the ongoing Test series against England, Shikhar Dhawan too urged his followers to take time out to salute our brave freedom fighters.
“On this day, let us remember and salute our brave freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for our country and our armed forces who risk their lives everyday to keep our borders safe. Wishing all Indians a very Happy Independence Day. Jai Hind! Vande Mataram!”
Yuvraj Singh posted a video message saluting India’s soldiers. He wrote, “This Independence Day, lets all come together & celebrate the achievements of our fellow Indians & our proud nation & hope that we as Indians continue to work together in order to make our tricolour fly high. Happy Independence Day. Jai Hind”
Suresh Raina, VVS Laxman, Anil Kumble, Virender Sehwag and Karun Nair also shared messages on social media.
