It was not just the India-New Zealand series that made headlines over the past few days. Kiwi star Ross Taylor’s friendly banter with former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag was also a source of amusement, and has won the hearts of many on social media.

During the course of the series, Sehwag would tweet to Taylor, taking a friendly dig at his surname, calling him ‘darji’, which means ‘tailor’. The Kiwi cricketer would then respond to Sehwag’s tweet in Hindi.

Just before leaving the country after New Zealand’s T20 series loss against India, Taylor took to Instagram and posted a photo with Ish Sodhi and a member of team management, named Dev. In the post he introduced the two gentlemen as people who helped him frame his Hindi responses to Sehwag. He also added that the ‘dhulai’ (slogging) and ‘silaai’ (stitching) would continue.

The banter started between the two former Delhi Daredevils players after Taylor performed brilliantly and made an impressive 100 runs on 95 balls against India in their first ODI in Mumbai.

A couple of days back, the star Kiwi batsman posted a photo in front of a Tailor shop that was shut, as a response to one of Sehwag’s tweets.
