Jos Buttler produced a batting master class against Mumbai Indians on Saturday, 13 April where his knock of 89 made a chase of 188 for Rajasthan Royals look like a cakewalk. It was not to be that way however, as the Royals lost some quick wickets at the fag end of their innings. They however still won the match by 4 wickets to notch up their second win of the season.

Buttler’s knock was designed by eight fours and seven sixes which included a 28-run over from Alzarri Joseph in the 13th over before being dismissed by Rahul Chahar in the next over. Buttler who got starts in every game, made it count finally in this match.

His explosive batting left the Mumbai skipper and his bowlers clueless as he spanked the bowler to all parts of the ground.

The decision to play a young Joseph after his recent success instead of an experienced Lasith Malinga did cost Mumbai Indians as he lost the plot while bowling to the destructive Buttler.

This is how Twitter reacted to Buttler’s knock.

However, the match took a turn after Buttler’s dismissal as Rajasthan lost 4 wickets quickly that off Sanju Samson ( 31), Rahul Tripathi (1), Liam Livingstone (1) and Steve Smith (12). It was Shreyash Gopal then who kept a cool head in the last over and hit the winning runs for Rajasthan in the final over of their innings.
