Virat Kohli’s Indian cricket team departed for England from Mumbai on Tuesday night.

Following a hectic IPL schedule over the last few months, the Indian team regrouped in Mumbai over the last few days before heading out for their biggest assignment of the year. India are scheduled to play their first warm-up game on 25 May against New Zealand.

Speaking to the media earlier in the day, Virat Kohli had termed the 2019 World Cup the “most challenging” as it will see all teams compete against each other in a round robin group format.

"Personally, it will probably be the most challenging World Cup I have been part of because of the format and also the strength of all the teams. If you look at Afghanistan from 2015 to now, they are a completely different side," said Kohli at the pre-departure press conference.
