David Warner rode his luck early on in his innings after the Zing bails stayed intact despite the ball rolling onto the stump in Jasprit Bumrah’s very first over.

This is the fifth instance in this World Cup when the bails did not fall off the groove despite the ball hitting. There was a similar situation in the England vs Bangladesh match on Saturday. Prior to that, the IPL also saw such mishaps, which is very frustrating for the bowling side.

Former cricketer have found these development quite disturbing and took to Twitter to express their dismay.

Shoaib Akhtar was curious that how can such a thing happen in a big tournament like the World Cup and that too at a span of 10 days.

Vaughan on the other hand, said that the batsmen of this generation are lucky as they ride their luck while batting with the bails not falling and asked them to replaced immediately.

Earlier in the game, Shikhar Dhawan scored his 17th ODI ton (117 off 109 balls) as he anchored the Indian innings. India finally finished on 352/5 with contributions from Rohit Sharma (57), Virat Kohli (82), Hardik Pandya (48) and MS Dhoni (27).
