Indian archer Atanu Das failed to qualify for the quarter-finals in the archery event as he was knocked out by South Korean Lee Seung-Yun 4-6 in Rio Olympics in last 16 stage.

In a close encounter, Atanu started off well. However, he lost the first set 28-30 to Lee. He came back strong in the next set, scoring three 10’s in a row, and won the set a close margin of 30-28.

Atanu couldn’t carry on his momentum for the next two sets as the South Korean proved too handy for him. In-spite of rain and strong winds, the 24-year-old from Kolkata delivered a good performance in his maiden Olympics.

He was the last Indian left in this category of the event in Rio.
